We have just heard of the tragic death in his helicopter of Mark Weir of Honister Mines. He was a great friend to the club and his death will be a great loss to the valley. The thoughts of many will be with his family. The club was represented at the funeral, and his body now lies in the graveyard at Stonethwaite Church. Others people of interest in that graveyard include some of the Edmondson family from Seathwaite farm, and Bob Graham of the eponymous 'Round'. See his obituary in the Guardian.
