The snow continued into February, with more snow falling on the 6th. These photos were taken on Helvellyn on one of the coldest days of the winter so far, with the temperature in the valley at minus 2C.

Mid-week Walk - Hart Crag via Hartsop above How

A good turn out of 17 members met at the Brothers Water car park on a brilliant sunny morning. Tony and Sue led the walk through the woods alongside the road to just short of Bridgend, where the route turned left up the long ridge of Hartsop above How. With brilliant views all round, lunch was taken just before the pull up onto Hart Crag. Views from the summit were great but slightly hazy. Tony and Sue led down and over Dove Crag where the Fairfield Horseshoe was left to descend over Bakestones Moss and down to Scandale Head. The route down Caiston Glen was a new one for many members, and the group emerged into the foot of Dovedale and the walk back alongside Brothers Water with lovely reflections of the fells. Thanks Tony and Sue for a great walk in beautiful conditions.

Annual Dinner at the eagle and Child, Staveley
35 members attended the meal, including our current president Roger Atkinson and his wife Margaret, and past presidents Gordon Pitt, and John Peat and his wife Anne.
Krysia's appetiser walk went ahead, and the conditions underfoot were not as muddy as expected!
