Evening Walk - Leighton Moss RSPB Bird Reserve

A good turn out of members and friends for this walk around Leighton Moss with members Paul and Rose East. No otters or booming bitterns, but a sighting of one of the marsh harriers and a flock of black tailed godwits. Perhaps the highlight was a tawny owl coolly resting in the crook of a tree whilst we observed it. Thanks Rose and Paul for a wonderful evenings walk.

Mid-week Walk - Cartmel and the Ellerside Ridge

20/21 members and friends had a lovely walk on a lovely day, with lovely people: well organised Colin and Val! Meeting at the racecourse, Colin led through the fields alongside the river Eea and up to Howbarrow. Missing the top because of access issues, the walk headed northwards along the Ellerside ridge. Lunch was taken overlooking the Greenodd estuary before returning via Overridge and Hard Crag. Drinks in the square rounded off an excellent walk.
