At the September working weekend, as well as visits from members to carry out work on the regular maintenance of High House, we had a visit from Jimmy Davies and his family. Jimmy and his sister were the son and daughter of two early members of the club from before WW2, Garnett Davies and his wife Annie (nee Stainton). They had come to scatter their ashes in the grounds of High House and to present the club with a memorial bench.

Midweek walk - Catrigg Force and Attermire Scar from Settle.
Frank Haygarth - Leader, Mick & Clare Fox, Tony Maguire & Sue Mitchell, Val Calder, David Birkett, Ruth and Robin, Hugh Taylor & Angie Mitchell, Norman Bell, Jenny Scott, Les Ord, Sam & Elaine Bracken.

Despite a forecast for a dry day, the weather in Settle was drizzle so coffee in The Lion seemed a good idea. Then up Constitution Hill and along the fellside to Langcliffe before heading up to Catrigg Force for lunch. The return was made via the superb scenery of Attermire, including checking outa few caves including Victoria Cave. Tea and cakes in the Naked Man cafe rounded off an excellent walk with weather that improved through the day. Thanks Frank.

The photo below shows the group returning to Settle down the Dales High Way.
