The middle of the Spring bank holiday week saw the holding of 'Walters Water Weekend' based at the St Anne's School lakeside building on the shores of Windermere - see right.
A variety of craft were seen on the water, with pride of place going to Walters steam launch, shown below left with Peter, Walter, and June Mary aboard.
Other craft included sailing dinghys and canoes - below right with George and Richard.

'Climbing for All' continued on Thursday nights, and the longer evenings enabled travelling further afield. The photo opposite shows Alan Wilson climbing Kennel Wall (Mild Severe) on Gouther Crag in Swindale on Thursday 3rd June.

Over in the Gaitbarrows Reserve near Arnside, the Ladies Slipper Orchids were fading away, and this photo just catches the beauty of the flower before their demise until next year.
Grey Nag is a 2000 ft hill in the Northern pennines, and its interesting summit is shown on the right.
The Mid-week Meander saw 12 members gather in Mallerstang for a walk over Wild Boar Fell and Swarth Fell. The warm sunny weather of late was not much in evidence, and Swarth Fell saw the group enveloped in wind and low cloud.
The photo left shows the group by the line of cairns on the Boar Fell escarpment, with from the left - Norman, Mick, Graham, Fred, David, Jean, Clare, Roger, Irene, Margaret. Not in the picture are John and Hugh.
Peter Goff arranged another superb evening walk, this time around the Silverdale area, using the villages 5 wells as the focus. Even the continuation of the great spell of warm and dry weather didn't manage to dry up any of the wells. Well done Peter (sorry for the pun).
Right shows the group at Bank Well, with from the left - Peter, Walter, Clare behind Sheila, Angie, Kath, Mike, Mick, Val B, Margaret, Val C, Steve, and David. Not on the photo are Roger and Hugh.

The family walk and picnic was arather damp affair, consisting of a walk from Ferry Nab along Windermere and up over Claife Heights. The photo on the right was taken after the damp picnic stop.
