Dec 23 - Jan 2 High House reserved for Fellfarers - Christmas and New Year.  
Jan 12 - 14

Glencoe meet in the Clachaig chalets. A joint meet with Bassetlaw Hill and Mountain Club.
Three chalets have been booked and confirmed -
Rowan chalet is booked for Fellfarers and has 5 beds - cost £250.
Birch chalet has been booked for Bassetlaw and has 4 beds - cost £240.
Beech chalet has been booked for anybody and has 4 beds - cost £240.
Cost per person for the two nights is expected to be £57

All places are now taken, and the people going are -
Rowan: Mel & Hugh in the double, Jan in the single, Mick and Alan in the twin.
Beech: Veronica and Graham in the double, Kevin and Norman in the twin.
Birch: Adam, Alvin, Charles and Mick.

Jan 13 - Sat Charlies Walk Meet 10.30am at the Riflemans’ Arms, Kendal, for a 4/5 mile easy walk, to Cunswick Scar. Followed by lunch at the Union Jack cafe in Kirkland, Kendal, or a drink at the pub (or both!) David Birkett 01539 738280
Jan 17 - Wed Mid-week walk - A circular walk from Orton. Meet at 10am at the Chocolate Factory, Orton. Distance approximately 9 miles with moderate ascents up to 300 ft. taking in Robin Hood’s Grave, Crosby Ravensworth (pub), Bank Moor, Graythorne Plain and Gamelands Stone Circle Norman Bell . 015394 44939
Jan 19 - 22 High House reserved for Fellfarers - Quiet weekend. A winter walk(s)/meal for Saturday will be planned on Friday night.

Jan 23 - Tues Slideshow - Review of the Year. January means that once again the Editor will be showing the Review of the Year slideshow. If you’d like your favourite shots to be featured, send them along by disc, memory card or online as soon as possible, including any relevant info (date, location etc.). ‘Proper’ paper photos can be scanned and included too. Photos at club events will be especially welcome of course but any interesting pictures from 2017 could be included. All photos will be added to the club archive and memory cards will be returned. Appetite Enhancer Walk, Meet 10.30 am in the Crooklands layby (with the snack van) for a 5 mile walk. Maybe muddy but easy walking.

Scottish Hotel Meet. Clare is now taking names for the 2018 Scottish Hotel Meet (Sunday 18th to Friday 23rd March) in Killin. The village is on the A827 at the western end of Loch Tay in Stirlingshire and is famous for its scenic Falls of Dochart. There is a huge selection of hills in every direction and much to do at lower levels too. The price is £40 per person per night for dinner, bed and breakfast (with a £15 per night single occupancy surcharge). Around 30 people have already expressed an interest in attending the event. Please could you now contact Clare Fox to confirm your place and let her know your sleeping requirements.

Apl 25 - Wed Midweek Walk - A walk in Lower Dentdale. Meet at 10am at Millthrop Bridge on the Dent road, go over bridge and park immediately on the right (GR 661 913). Distance 10.5 or 8.5 miles with approximately 1200ft of ascent. Quiet lanes, grassy and stoney tracks with moorland (marshy in places). Frank Haygarth 01539 723948
